Climates change, so what?

I saw a thing on PBS about the creation of the Earth on Wed. The show explained the formation of the Moon using the collision theory. The belief is that a large body slammed into the proto-Earth several billion years ago which ejected a large amount of material that later formed into the moon.
During the early years of the Moon it orbited much closer than it does now. The close orbit caused the Moon to have a much greater gravitational effect than it does now. One of the effects was an increase in the Earth's rotation caused by centrifugal force of the Moon's orbit. Think of gravity like a tether. The Moon is currently moving about 1" every year further away in it's orbit and slowing the Earth rotation by a proportional amount; thusly it lengthens the days and makes them warmer.

I found this link on Drudge. It probably sums the current enviro-wacko movement the best, and it is more like communism than you might think (or they will say).
