The Knights Templar ceased to be a major organization in Europe. This is where (more than likely) the term and superstition about "Friday the 13th" came to be. On Friday, October 13, 1307, Under the orders from the King of France and the Pope the Templars were assailed as heretics, their lands seized, and many were executed - all for the kings greed and power.
